Fitbit dev tools are moving to Google Accounts

Fitbit is now a part of Google, and Fitbit accounts are being phased out for both users and developers. Any third-party apps you’ve created for Fitbit devices using your current Fitbit login credentials will be deleted unless you move to a Google Account. After Feb. 2, 2026, you won’t be able to access Fitbit with your current login credentials. To maintain access to developer tools and dev.fitbit.com, move your Fitbit account to a Google Account now.

For WebAPI developers:

Your application will lose access to the Fitbit WebAPIs.

For Clock Face and Device App developers:

New user activations will be blocked and you will not be able to access your app or clock face using your Fitbit account.

To move to a Google Account, open the Fitbit app, go to app settings, and look for the option to move Fitbit to your Google Account (you may need to update the app in order to continue).
